User Advocate
By consistently promoting our users and their problems and needs during internal conversations as a Business Analyst, Product Manager/Owner, and now as UX Designer, I have helped create an environment where the value of user experience is understood. Not only where it is known to add value but where the company prioritizes it. At Flywheel, my advocacy resulted in our ability to hire and build an official team of designers.
“Customers” are not always end users and sometimes we forget this. There are the people that purchase our product and then there are the people who use it. This could be such an important distinction.
User Testing
Assisted in establishing a user research and testing function in two companies displaying the need for data to make clear and sound design decisions.
Led external provider and clinician user groups to elicit functional and design requirements for electronic medical record software.
Led an initiative to build a user forum to allow customers a safe, secure, and efficient space to connect. They tend to share their ideas and reach out when they want inspiration. They have taken what we started and created an engaging community space.
Internal Partner
I excel in UX design handoffs and maintenance by communicating every detail clearly and comprehensively. I foster smooth collaboration with engineering and cross-functional teams before, during, and after development. By providing organized assets, detailed annotations, and an open line for feedback and questions, I help streamline the transition from discovery to design to general availability.
My approach to working with product and engineering includes transparency, adaptability, and partnership, so every team involved can bring the design vision to life accurately and efficiently. This commitment to seamless handoffs supports development and strengthens collaboration across teams.
Partnering closely with the product provides clear objectives, and this is evident in my work. If the team knows the why, they are more likely to understand the meaning and importance behind each design decision.

I am committed to being a lifelong learner, constantly expanding my skills and staying updated with UX design and product development trends. Time and time again, learning fuels my creativity and innovation, enabling me to bring fresh perspectives to each project. Feedback is critical to good design and through asking for it, I always learn something.

With 14 years of experience in product development and design in the medical space, and in differing capacities, I’ve had the privilege of addressing healthcare's unique yet robust challenges and improving user experiences in this critical field.
Now, I’m eager to explore opportunities in healthcare or other industries where I can apply my skills to new contexts, expand my knowledge, and continue contributing to developing products that empower users and drive positive change.
